Indian

So this morning I heard the news on the radio. Woman assaulted in Sale by some man. The man was said to have an "Indian look".

That sounded odd to me.

Often you'd hear people's looks decribed as "Asian", or "Caucasian", or "Middle-Eastern" but hardly a specific country name is mentioned.

First I thought, are they even allowed to mention such thing in the news? I mean, people from Bangladesh, Pakistan or Sri Lanka somewhat look alike. What if the man is not an Indian, yet the whole nation was made infamous? This is only the "looks" that we're talking about.

Then I wondered, is it because Indian population is so big that it's safe to assume that somebody who "looks Indian" actually comes from that nation?

But then again, nothing beats the good old Chinese massive population right? I'm pretty sure the news would still say something like: " The man with Asian looks".

So what is it about an "Indian look"?

Wednesday

Sometimes I do enjoy being in the UAC Change of Preference team. I don't have to do my never-ending email queries as lovely Amy is helping me a lot these days - ahh our good old training sessions.
I get to work on whatever my client requests of me - some adhoc tasks - which have kept me busy and "awake".

These days I don't really have a proper manager who's available right there and then. My previous manager has gone to our offshore office while my new manager won't arrive until the week after next. So this has been interesting. I get to do whatever I want. By that, I mean I get to make all the decisions to do with my account!! Yes.

KPI-wise? It may seem like I do nothing all day. But I'm busy as ever. These requests come simultaneously and require multiple follow-ups. I like it though.

Ok. Hubby has jumped back into the car. Must stop writing or else I get car sick.

Another hot day

Today the temperature was peaking up again. Oven hot air burst out when I stepped out of the office.
I'm sure it's now anywhere in the 40's.

Alhamdulillaah...

I really want to be one of those who are grateful for whatever situations thrown at them. Afterall, that's what the Prophet pbuh said; we are fortunate since we are patient when calamities overcome us and we are grateful when good things happen to us - well, at least for some of us, we try to be that way.

It reminds me of a lovely sister I met in the Pilgrimage journey last year who recently got diagnosed for an ovary tumour kind of disease. She announced the news with somewhat grateful sense as this situation makes her believe that she is strong enough to go through it, so she said.

I was amazed.

Back to the heat. I realise I get runny nose when it's really hot in my surrounding. I'm just glad I'm now in the train with air conditioner - and I got a seat too. That's definitely something to thank God for.

Hey. Maybe that's it!

I can focus my blog posts on turning things into gratitude! I do feel like I tend to look at things the negative way; the glass often seems half empty.

That just locks me in the darkness, missing out on all the beauty and joy around me.

In the name of God the Merciful. I'm going to start my Gratitude Project!

On my mobile

Yayyyyy I think Ive worked out my mobile blogging system - thank God!

Yayy.

Right. So let's see if we can post up photos too...
I'm currently at a cafe to have breakfast before going to work. Yep. First day back after a long weekend. It was hard to get up - like any other days really.

This morning I tried to cook chicken pieces in a pot unattended. The heat was too high and a good portion of it was burnt :(

I should remember to put it low next time!!
